Tourism was one of the sectors directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The restrictions on the movement of people and the restrictions on the operation of hotel services introduced in 2020 resulted in a significant decrease in the number of persons accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments compared to the previous year.
