The document was prepared by GIS and RS Consulting Center Geographic and
determines the boundaries of the historical part of the city and the relevant zones. The
City Hall has changed the boundaries established by the research before submitting the
document for approval and though it exists, the city government is still making decisions
in favor of investors.
About 65 permission on constructions were issued in a historical part of Batumi only
during the last year. New constructions are being built on a place of an old ones.
More than hundred historical and cultural monuments have already lost status, the
process is still in progress.
